Twenty-six species of Dolichopodidae (Diptera) from the subfamilies Sciapodinae, Rhaphiinae, Sympycninae and Dolichopodinae are recorded from southwestern China. Six species of Sciapodinae are newly described: Amblypsilopus bractus, A. hainanensis, A. subabruptus, Chrysosoma cyaneculiscutum, Plagiozopelma medivittatum, and P. magniflavum. Genitalic illustrations are provided for several previously described dolichopodids. Rhaphium popularis Becker is newly regarded as a junior synonym of Rhaphium dispar Coquillett.
