Abstract

Parastrachia nagaensis (Distant), hitherto known from northeastern India and north-western China, has been collected in Laos, at 1500–2000 m. This new country record extends the known range of the species about 300 km to the south. Parastrachia nagaensis has so far been found between 95–104° east longitude. The other species in the family, Parastrachia japonensis (Scott), is a more western species, occurring at 119–130° east longitude; these distributions are mapped. These two are the only species in the pentatomoid family Parastrachiidae.
