The breeding biology of the African Pied Wagtail Motacilla aguimp was studied around Soche Sewage works during 1984 and 1985. Wagtails started breeding before the rains and continued into the rainy season. In total they bred for six months of the year with peaks in March and October. Both sexes particiated in nest building but only the female was observed to incubate. During this study a mean clutch of 3,9 eggs was recorded. Both sexes fed the chicks.
