Fine needle aspiration cytodiagnosis of sialadenitis with crystalloid formation

Pages 102-103 | Accepted 10 Sep 1996, Published online: 06 Jul 2009

Summary

Two cases of sialadenitis with crystalloid formation are here described in which the diagnosis was made by fine needle aspiration cytology. In both cases the enlargement of salivary gland clinically mimicked a neoplasm and the aspiration cytodiagnosis resulted in conservative management and avoided unnecessary surgery.
