Abstract
In earlier work, we have proposed a phenomenological relation between the logarithm of the superconducting transition and the Debye temperature for five bcc transition elements showing no isotope effect and therefore of non-Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer character. This has prompted the present study of the high behaviour of some families of the cuprates. The theoretical study of Ginzburg and Kirshnitz is utilized as starting point for the phenomenology presented here.
