Abstract
The measured light scattering intensities of some binary liquid mixtures at 20°C using a He-Ne laser at γ = 632.8 nm and the calculated compositional fluctuation function, f, together with literature values of the vapour pressures for some of these liquids were utilized for evaluation of the partial pressures of the components of these mixtures as a function of mixture composition. The present work has confirmed that careful measurements of light scattering of binary mixtures can provide important thermodynamic data which are otherwise attainable only with some difficulty.
