AT Plastics will Merge with Acetex Shareholders of AT Plastics Inc., Brampton (Ontario), have voted in favor of a merger with Acetex Corp.,Vancouver, at a special meeting on August 1, 2003. Acetex is Europe's second largest producer of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM). AT Plastics produces specialty polymers such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers at Edmonton. "Vinyl acetate monomer, which is a primary product of Acetex, is a major feedstock of AT Plastics. Although there will be no physical integration, this product synergy will provide financial strength to the company," says Brooke N.Wade, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Acetex.
