Abstract
We gave an overview of material types in the introductory column. In this column, we briefly describe the past, present, and future of materials. Technology makes our lives easier. Its growth during the past 100 years is phenomenal. There is no doubt about the superiority of American agricultural technology. This has resulted in its acceptance worldwide with varying degrees of success during the last few decades resulting in improvement in quality of life particularly in the countries of Asia with large populations. Before American agricultural technology, only Al-Andalas (Umayyad Spain) agricultural technology could support 30 million people in Spain. After the inquisition, more than 500 years ago, this technology withered.
