Selecting the Proper Operation for Benign Hypertrophy of the Prostate

Abstract

This is a brief discussion of the indications for operation upon benign prostatic hypertrophy and a comparison of the mortality rates of transurethral resection in the hands of the author and others with that of the open operations. The mortality rate of the former is as low as 0.505 per cent as compared to 5 to 6 per cent for the open operations.
