Primary Hyperparathyroidism

Pages 208-215 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Nephrolithiasis, as well as bone disease, should make one consider the possibility of hyperparathyroidism. A brief review of the pathologic physiology of hyperparathyroidism is presented. A knowledge of this is essential in differentiating primary hyperparathyroidism from other conditions which alter the normal physiology of calcium, phosphorus, phosphatase, bones and kidneys.
