Abstract
The diagnosis of constrictive pericarditis is frequently confused with that of mitral stenosis as well as other diseases. This paper presents clues for the early recognition of constrictive pericarditis by clinical and instrumental methods with illustrative cases. The indications for and the use of pericardiectomy as a cure are discussed.
