Abstract
Retrolental fibroplasia affects the eyes of premature infants of low birth weight. Its etiology is undetermined and no treatment has so far been markedly effective. Vitamin E has been used prophylactically but results are still inconclusive.
Studies on use of ACTH are reviewed but sufficient data are not available to determine its place in treatment of this disease.
