Symptomatic Treatment of Eczema and Dermatitis

Pages 412-414 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

For acute forms of dermatitis with edema and oozing, the symptomatic treatment is continuous, cool, wet dressings. Subacute to chronic forms need simple, soothing ointments. Chronic forms of dermatitis require stimulating ointments. In all forms, external irritants should be avoided and, in most, protection by bandages is needed.
