The Physiology of Ventilation in Chronic Lung Disease

Pages 329-338 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Pulmonary ventilation represents but one component of over-all pulmonary function which may be affected in various types of chronic lung disease. Since several of the factors responsible for impaired ventilation are of a reversible nature, an understanding of the mechanisms involved is helpful in the rational therapeutic approach to abnormal physiology of chronic pulmonary problems.
