Early Recognition of Bronchogenic Carcinoma

Pages 214-220 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Bronchogenic carcinoma is increasing more than any other cancer in the body. The unprecedented increase is probably due to the carcinogenic effect of cigarette smoking. Unfortunately, a long delay usually occurs between the onset of the disease and the diagnosis. All men past 40 years of age who have been heavy smokers should have x-rays of their chest every three to six months in order that bronchogenic cancer can be detected early.
