Education for Careers in Public Health

Abstract

Preventive medicine—“the medicine of the future”—is an essential part of the national health program as the free world mobilizes its resources to meet the threat of international communism. If we use public health and preventive medicine to reduce sickness and accidents with the same effectiveness that we now use clinical medicine to cure the sick and injured, American physicians will conserve the nation's physical strength at a time when weakness is an invitation to disaster.
