A Breast Clinic

Pages 513-518 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Radical mastectomy for cancer of the breast has led to improvement in the 5 and 10 year survival rate. There is unlikely to be a further improvement because of the percentage of cases in which the growth has extended beyond the range of surgery. Super-radical operations have yet to prove their value. Pre- and postoperative radiations are worthy of trial in selected cases.
