The management of the postmenopausal woman consists of understanding not only her physical ailments but her emotional background as well. Treatment must be directed toward alleviation of physical suffering, reassurance and supportive therapy, rather than haphazard hormone administration. Periodic examination aids in reassuring this group of patients.
