Carcinoma of the Prostate

Pages 386-391 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

The common occurrence of carcinoma of the prostate is not fully appreciated. Radical excision offers a possibility of cure if the disease is discovered in its early stages, when it is clinically recognizable in most instances. Moreover, palliative therapy, in the form of hormones or irradiation, has proved successful in controlling symptoms and retarding progress of the disease in inoperable cases.
