Abstract
The authors are dissatisfied with the current indications and results of common duct exploration for stones. In an effort to improve the results of biliary tract surgery, a series of consecutive cases using operative cholangiography were studied. This paper describes experiences encountered in the development of a good technic for operative cholangiography and the results obtained by the method. The advantages and limitations of operative cholangiography are discussed.
