Abstract
A surgical technic for transthoracic dorsolumbar sympathectomy is described which has been found to supply the answers to many of the technical problems involved in this procedure. It is not reported as a new concept in technic, and a review of the numerous surgical methods for sympathectomy has therefore been deliberately excluded. It appears that an ever increasing number of surgeons are employing a transthoracic approach to the sympathetic nervous system, and the described procedure is presented as that preferred.
