Abstract

Aneurysms and arteriosclerotic thrombo-obliterative disease of the aorta constitute two of the most common and serious forms of aortic lesions for which treatment has been generally unsatisfactory. Recently, however, a procedure has been developed wherein the lesion is extirpated and function restored by aortic repair or insertion of homografts. The gratifying results obtained by this method of therapy based on an experience with 41 cases suggests it is the most effective approach to the problem.
