Office Diagnosis of Pheochromocytoma

Pages 218-221 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

The hypertension of pheochromocytoma is often characterized by distinctive signs and symptoms. These clinical manifestations and the recent introduction of simple pharmacologic tests make the office diagnosis of even the “silent” pheochromocytoma feasible. Early diagnosis and surgery are mandatory if cardiovascular damage or malignant changes are to be prevented.
