Abstract
Liver extracts have been employed, with and without scientific rationale, to treat many disturbances. The development of liver extracts and their many applications are reviewed. Use of a new crude liver extract prepared from pregnant mammalian liver to treat patients with diabetic neuropathy is discussed. The early encouraging results suggest that this course of treatment should be studied more intensively.
