The Diagnosis of Esophageal Hiatus Hernia

&
Pages 14-18 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Diagnosis of this disease will depend on a high index of suspicion in the presence of certain clinical findings. These findings are discussed in relation to the pathologic anatomy at the esophagogastric junction. The problems of differential diagnosis which consistently arise can be resolved only by roentgenographic studies with contrast media and esophagoscopy.
