Abstract
This brief article summarizes the basic principles of early management of wounds of violence. Particular emphasis is given to methods of handling severely injured patients prior to definite surgical treatment. Methods for the proper use of antibiotics in wounds of violence, developed during the Korean conflict, and the studies leading to them are described.
