Abstract
Success in treating lymphosarcoma of the tonsil depends on early diagnosis. The disease is characterized either by sudden and rapid unilateral enlargement of the tonsil or by a superficial ulcer which later becomes very deep and extensive. Early symptoms are negligible and should be confirmed by examination for Vincent's microorganisms and subsequent section and microscopic examination of the dissected tonsil. Recommended treatment is complete removal of the tonsil, followed by radiotherapy.
