Abstract

Twenty cases of resection of the abdominal aorta with insertion of homo grafts are reviewed. In 19 of these cases the aneurysms were arteriosclerotic. The most difficult part of the operation was in separating the inferior vena cava from the aneurysm; the most common complication was thromboses. In view of the survival period and relief of symptoms obtained in this series, the authors believe that this comparatively new operative procedure is logical and worthwhile.
