Abstract
Natural childbirth is not a new practice; however, it is new lo place the pregnant woman in an optimal psychologic milieu which enables her to use her innate physical and emotional powers to the fullest extent. Training for childbirth must be done only with the pregnant woman s permission and should include orientation of her obstetrician, her husband and all who care for her. In the author s experience, all women who have received education for childbirth have benefited from this instruction.
