Resuscitation for Cardiac Arrest

&
Pages 516-527 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Resuscitation without cerebral damage is possible when oxygenation has stopped for not more than three to five minutes. The authors describe in detail their two part procedure for resuscitation: restoration of the oxygen system and restoration of the heart beat. They also suggest that knowledge of resuscitation should not be confined to the medical profession and that tools to carry out resuscitation need not be confined to the hospital.
