What Is Antral Gastritis?

&
Pages 480-483 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Antral gastritis rarely should be considered a primary lesion. It often is due to antral irritability secondary to peptic ulcer or carcinoma. Four case reports illustrate the dangers of accepting a diagnosis of antral gastritis without further investigation. Close observation and re-examination often will reveal the underlying cause of antral abnormalities.
