Some Problems in Anesthesia for Accident Victims

Pages 490-494 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Despite time limitations, accident victims must be given some preanesthetic evaluation before surgery. The condition of the circulatory system is probably of greatest importance. Preanesthetic medication should be minimal. The stomach must be evacuated. The patient's safety determines the choice of anesthetic. Respiration must be adequately maintained before and during anesthetization.
