Chymotrypsin Therapy of Peptic Ulcer; Results in 78 Cases

Pages 542-550 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Chymotrypsin was used alone or in conjunction with other medicaments in 78 cases of peptic ulcer. Concomitant use of anti-cholinergic drugs and tranquilizing agents enhances the healing properties of chymotrypsin by affording rest to the involved portion of the stomach and by relieving psychic stress. Results obtained lead the author to recommend use of the enzyme as a valuable adjunct in treating peptic ulcer.
