Abstract
The newer psychopharmacologic agents facilitate the control of nervous and mental illness but are not a substitute for proper physical, mental or social adjustment of the patient. They are best used as a supplement to other direct measures aimed at obtaining a cure. All of them may produce troublesome, even dangerous side effects or complications.
