Meralgia Paresthetica

Pages 828-829 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Meralgia paresthetica occurs frequently and should be differentiated from paresthesias caused by derangements of the lower back. Three cases are presented in which patients had paresthesias and anesthesia over the distribution of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve after wearing some encircling apparatus such as a pelvic belt.

Unwarranted surgery will be avoided by correct diagnosis and treatment of meralgia paresthetica.
