Abstract

Hypoglycemia resulting from islet cell tumor of the pancreas necessitates prompt diagnosis and treatment. The diverse clinical manifestations are caused by a low concentration of blood sugar. Determining the value for the fasting blood sugar is probably the most useful diagnostic test. A case is reported in which intravenous administration of REGITINE® proved of diagnostic value. Use of the test is suggested when the presence of islet cell tumor is suspected.
