Abstract
Asymptomatic evanescent pneumonitis is a benign condition which may simulate tuberculosis, carcinoma or almost any localized pulmonary disease.
Erroneous diagnosis may be avoided by serial roentgenographic examinations of the lungs to determine if the lesion has spontaneously resolved or if it is persistent. The authors present seven cases which illustrate the various diagnostic problems of asymptomatic evanescent pneumonitis.
