Pages 450-456 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Formerly considered a therapeutic procedure, uterine curettage is now emphasized as a diagnostic procedure in the early detection of cancer of the female genital tract. Tissue for biopsy should be removed simultaneously from both the cervix and endocervix.

The preferred method of uterine curettage is outlined and discussed.
