Pages 558-560 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

Many women become increasingly apprehensive and tense during the early stages of labor.

Some medications used to allay pain and apprehension in early labor often impede the progress of labor or have a noxious effect on the unborn child.

The effects of 100 mg. hydroxyzine hydrochloride administered intramuscularly were studied in a series of 111 patients during the early stages of labor. Results of the test are discussed.
