Abstract
Three problems in electrocardiographic research which have been the subjects for investigations in the past 10 years are reviewed briefly.
1. | A considerable portion of the inner wall of the left ventricle may be activated instantaneously, and only the outer layers of ventricular myocardium may contribute to formation of the QRS complex at the epicardial surface.
2. | The sequence of intraventricular conduction has been shown to vary considerably, and there may be rather marked alterations in the order of ventricular excitation without clinical evidence of organic heart disease.
2. | Electrocardiographic changes of ventricular hypertrophy are not always well correlated with clinical evidence of right or left ventricular enlargement. |
