Clinical Observations in 67 Cases

Pages 451-457 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Factors in diagnosis and management of staphylococcal pneumonia in childhood are discussed, based on observations in 67 cases over a four year period.

Early suspicion of this entity and prompt, vigorous antibiotic therapy are emphasized. Surgical drainage, usually of the closed catheter type, frequently is necessary.
