Abstract

The findings of various investigative studies of the composition of glandular secretions in cystic fibrosis of the pancreas are presented. The duodenal fluid, secretion of the bronchial glands, saliva, tears and sweat are abnormal in this metabolic disease. Abnormalities of composition, viscosity, and electrolytic and organic components and their relationship to rate of secretory flow are reviewed, and other conditions are mentioned in which some of these abnormalities may be found.
