Trunk Trauma in Children

, M.D.
Pages 239-245 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Infants and children have remarkable recuperative powers following traumatic injury. Although serious injuries are not common in childhood, the physician must always suspect the worst when there is a history of major trauma. Indications for diagnostic paracentesis, intravenous pyelography and exploratory operation are discussed, and illustrative cases are presented.
