Diagnosis and Treatment of Tumors of the Urinary Bladder

, M.D.
Pages 455-460 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

The diagnosis of bladder tumor should be made with ease and consistency. Certain tumors are virtually 100 per cent curable, but results of surgical therapy of more advanced neoplasms are disappointing and justify exploration of other therapeutic modalities. Gross hematuria is the first definite sign of tumor in 75 per cent of cases. Either gross or microscopic hematuria demands prompt and thorough investigation during the bleeding episode.
