Associated Vascular Disease in Essential Hypertension and Its Influence on Therapy

Abstract

Impairment of such vital organs as the brain, heart or kidneys is a serious deterrent to hypotensive drug therapy in essential hypertension. Patients with impaired function of these organs cannot tolerate the reduced blood flow which is a consequence of lowering the blood pressure.
