Abstract

In hypertension caused by stenosis of the renal artery, surgical repair is preferable to medical palliation unless contraindicated by the patient's physical condition.

Conclusive diagnosis requires renal angiography, although intravenous urography and radiorenography are useful diagnostic adjuncts.
