Macroscopic Bleeding During First and Second Trimesters of Pregnancy

Abstract

From his study, the author has concluded:

1.

Approximately one of every four pregnant women will report macroscopic bleeding during the first or second trimester of pregnancy.

2.

In one of two such patients this bleeding is inconsequential and without pathologic significance.

3.

Of those patients noticing bleeding during the first trimester, one of four will abort in spite of therapy.
