Roseola Infantum (Exanthem Subitum)

, M.D.
Pages 234-237 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Roseola infantum probably occurs almost universally among infants four months to three years of age, but in the majority it may be subclinical and unrecognizable. Occasionally an infant with this infection will have febrile seizures or frightening collapse. Hemiparesis is a rare complication. The epidemiology, clinical features and management of this common and important disease of infants are reviewed.
