Supracondylar Fracture of the Humerus in Children

Abstract

The problems in managing significantly displaced supracondylar fracture of the humerus in children are discussed, with particular attention to extension-type fractures. The results of treatment in 84 cases are reviewed. The safest and most effective method of treatment was found to be closed reduction done under general anesthesia and application of a shoulder spica cast.
