Abstract

Roentgenologic studies, gastric acidity, gastroscopy, cytology and response to intensive medical therapy all help to determine the proper approach in treatment of gastric ulcer. It is now believed that the ulcer's location is of little value in indicating whether it is benign or malignant. In addition to gastric ulcer and cancer, the authors discuss lymphoma, benign tumors, gastritis, and rare chronic infections.
